Whitney holds a bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. Her education has opened several doors, allowing her many opportunities within the community. She has spent time in food pantries, domestic violence shelters, crisis centers, and counseling clinics. Whitney has also worked alongside professors in custody cases, observing and evaluating families, and authoring social study recommendations. However, most notably was the time she shared with children at an inpatient mental health facility in Dallas. It was there that she first identified her desire to help those within the foster care system.
In 2010 Whitney accepted a marketing and development position with Pratt, Aycock & Associates PLLC, a Dallas based law firm specializing in real estate and title insurance. Her role within the company resulted in exponential growth through team building and client relations. During her time with the firm Whitney and her husband Mike welcomed two children, Braxton and Saylor, and in 2015 she made the big decision to put her fast-paced career on hold and stay at home with her family.
After attending the Austin Angels Dare to Dream Luncheon in 2017 Whitney was determined to serve her purpose for a greater cause, and therefore taking her seat on the board.
